Big Blue Madness 2024 on ASB GlassFloor

In cooperation with the University of Kentucky, the ASB GlassFloor was used for the first time for an event in college sports. The Big Blue Madness 2024.

About the Project

In October 2024, Big Blue Madness at the University of Kentucky made history as the first NCAA event to be held on the ASB GlassFloor. The innovative surface transformed Rupp Arena, turning the Wildcats’ season-opening celebration into a fully immersive experience. This interactive floor displayed team logos, player stats, and vibrant graphics, creating a dynamic atmosphere that captivated fans throughout the event.

The ASB GlassFloor added new layers of excitement, with player introductions accompanied by animated visuals, and even a football field design featured alongside local artist Wylie Caudill’s custom artwork. The technology not only enhanced fan engagement but also demonstrated its potential to elevate college sports by integrating live content, social media feeds, and in-game sponsorships directly on the court.

Christof Babinsky, Managing Director of ASB GlassFloor, praised the event: “Big Blue Madness proved the incredible impact of this technology. We hope to see full NCAA games on the floor soon, as it offers fantastic tools for coaches and an unparalleled fan experience.”

The success of Big Blue Madness highlights how technology can enrich both fan interaction and player development, offering universities new ways to connect with their communities. This breakthrough signals the beginning of a new era in college sports, where tradition meets innovation on and off the court.
