ASB GlassFloor to Install Innovative LED Glass Sports Floor in Saarlouis, Germany

The Stadtgartenhalle arena in Saarlouis is set to become one of Germany’s most advanced indoor sports venues with the installation of a state-of-the-art LED GlassFloor by ASB GlassFloor. Once completed, the venue will join a select group of sports facilities nationwide utilizing this innovative flooring technology.

Designed to maximize flexibility and performance, the ASB GlassFloor features integrated LED court markings that can be adjusted at the touch of a button. This allows the venue to seamlessly switch between sports such as handball, basketball, and volleyball without the need for permanent markings or time-consuming court conversions.

The Saarlouis installation will feature a blue playing surface that meets the requirements of the German Handball Federation. In addition to providing optimal playing conditions for athletes, the glass surface offers practical operational benefits. For example, handball resin can be removed more easily than on conventional sports flooring systems, helping reduce maintenance time and costs.

Durability and sustainability are also key advantages of the technology. With an expected lifespan of up to 70 years, ASB GlassFloor provides a long-term solution for sports venues seeking to invest in future-ready infrastructure.

The project represents a total investment of approximately €1.4 million, including €1 million in funding from the State of Saarland. Construction is scheduled to begin following the Special Olympics events hosted at the venue.

Upon completion, the new floor will serve local sports organizations including HG Saarlouis and the Saarlouis Royals, providing athletes with world-class conditions for training and competition.

Projects such as Saarlouis demonstrate ASB GlassFloor’s commitment to transforming sports venues worldwide through innovative, sustainable, and high-performance flooring solutions.
