Cuxlandhalle opens as the Most Modern Sports Hall in the Cuxland Region

On June 25, the new Cuxlandhalle in Cuxhaven was officially opened in a festive ceremony attended by representatives from the District and City of Cuxhaven, local political leaders and the project partners who helped bring the new venue to life.

Located on Beethovenallee, the Cuxlandhalle is now the most modern sports hall in the Cuxland region. Designed to serve schools, sports clubs and the local community, the facility combines innovative technology with a strong focus on accessibility and long term functionality.

At the heart of the hall are 1,260 square metres of ASB MultiSports glass flooring. The system provides excellent playing conditions for everyday school sports, club training and competitions while offering the flexibility to host a wide range of activities on a single surface.

The hall was also designed with emergency response in mind. Thanks to the durability of the ASB GlassFloor, the building can quickly be converted into a civil protection centre whenever required. The surface can be used with regular outdoor shoes and camp beds can be placed directly on the floor without the need for protective coverings. This allows the facility to be ready for use within a very short time.

Accessibility was another key priority throughout the project. The Cuxlandhalle has been specifically equipped for para sports and wheelchair basketball, allowing wheelchair athletes to train and compete without restrictions. The high contrast court markings of the MultiSports system also improve visibility for visually impaired athletes, creating a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone using the hall.

The opening of the Cuxlandhalle marks an important milestone for the City of Cuxhaven and the entire region. It is a venue that brings together sport, inclusion and community resilience while setting a new standard for modern sports facilities.
