The ASB GlassFloor made a remarkable impact on the basketball world with its debut at NBA All-Star 2024. The technology captivated 35,000 spectators at Lucas Oil Stadium, where the digital court was used for the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night, leaving a lasting impression on players and fans alike.

About the Project

The NBA has long been recognised as a bastion of innovation within the realm of professional sports. From pioneering rule changes to embracing cutting-edge technology, the league has consistently pushed the boundaries of what is possible both on and off the court.

While the NBA All-Star has traditionally been a marquee event on the league's calendar, its value in capturing audience attention and engagement has shifted over time. Recognising this shift, the NBA has remained proactive in reimagining the All-Star experience to better align with modern audience expectations. And this is where ASB GlassFloor comes in.

By incorporating ASB GlassFloor into the All-Star festivities, the NBA showed its forward-thinking approach that underscores the league's commitment to delivering unparalleled entertainment experiences while staying true to its tradition of pushing the boundaries of what's possible in sports entertainment.

GlassCourt OS: Powered by Innovation

The ASB GlassFloor was operated by GlassCourt OS, an interactive software solution that integrates data from diverse third-party sources, including player and ball tracking systems, sports and health data platforms, and coaching applications. Serving as a central nexus, the software processes real-time data, translating it into stunning and informative graphics showcased directly on the digital playing field.

The digital court displayed numerous animation features throughout the night, including a dynamic three-point and four-point line, engaging court graphics, special effects like fiery animations, custom graphics of the players with their pictures, performances, and real-time stats for fans, along with interactive game moments. These instances merely scratch the surface of the ASB GlassFloor's potential. Beyond entertainment, the court delivered tangible value to fans and players with displayed player statistics and a real-time ghost replay track.

I thought it was pretty cool, and it must have looked great on TV for the fans

It was really cool. The NBA really does a good job of entertaining the fans and surprising us players too.
