THE LGCY SERIES: From Berlin to Munich on the ASB GlassFloor

With the finale on August 9 at Munich’s BMW Park, THE LGCY SERIES successfully concluded its first season. Three stops, three sold-out events, and a total of nearly 10,000 spectators and guests demonstrate the potential of this new basketball and entertainment format.

At the heart of the entire series was the ASB GlassFloor, which transformed the playing surface into an interactive stage for basketball and entertainment. Dynamic LED graphics, visual effects, and digitally integrated game elements made the court an integral part of the production. The ASB GlassFloor is permanently installed at BMW Park.

THE LGCY SERIES combines basketball with entertainment, music, and culture, featuring new rules and a dynamic tournament format. Elements such as the 4-Point Zone and the Coaching Challenge add extra excitement and create new opportunities for fan interaction.

The ASB GlassFloor played a central role in bringing this concept to life. As a fully digital playing surface, the court can display animations, branding, and game-related content in real time and can be flexibly adapted to each event. This makes the playing surface itself an active part of the production.

The ASB GlassFloor also offers brands new opportunities for activations and sponsorship. At THE LGCY SERIES, HBO Max, Toyota, Philips, adidas, and Red Bull, among others, used the digital playing surface for their brand presentations and integrated their content directly into the event.

On the sporting front, R17 x Der Stamm was crowned the first champion of THE LGCY SERIES. The team, led by THE LGCY President Dennis Schröder as team head, thus secured the first LGCY Championship rings.

Following the kickoff in Berlin and the second stop in Braunschweig, the finale in Munich once again brought together basketball, creators, entertainment, and community. This marked the conclusion of the first season of a format that deliberately envisions basketball as more than just a traditional game.

For ASB GlassFloor, THE LGCY SERIES also demonstrates how digital playing surfaces can create new opportunities for sporting events, entertainment, and brand activations. From Berlin to Munich, the court was used not only as a playing surface but also as an integral part of the overall event production.
