World Premiere at MOVECITY: ASB GlassFloor Available for Public Booking for the First Time

MOVECITY is setting new benchmarks in sports and entertainment: On August 26, 2026, Switzerland’s largest multisport venue for freestyle and trend sports will open at Moosbachstrasse 13 in Affoltern am Albis – and at the same time become home to the world’s first publicly accessible and bookable Arena by ASB GlassFloor.

For the first time, the revolutionary full-LED glass floor, previously reserved for major arenas and professional sporting events such as BMW Park Munich, will be accessible to private individuals, sports clubs, schools, companies and content creators. MOVECITY will thus become a global pioneer location where cutting-edge technology, sports and entertainment merge into a widely accessible platform for experiences and innovation. More information is available at www.movecity.ch.

MOVECITY is not only Switzerland’s largest multisport venue for freestyle and trend sports, but also represents a global milestone in sports technology and infrastructure. On August 26, 2026, the world’s first publicly accessible and bookable installation of its kind, the Arena by ASB GlassFloor, will open here.

For the first time, a technology that has until now been reserved for major arenas and professional sporting events, such as BMW Park Munich, will become accessible to private individuals, sports clubs, schools, companies and content creators.

MOVECITY will therefore become the first location in the world where the revolutionary ASB GlassFloor can be booked and actively used by the general public and sports enthusiasts. As a result, ASB GlassFloor will not only be established as a leading technology in professional sports, but also as a widely accessible platform for experiences and innovation.

Pre-bookings for the Arena by ASB GlassFloor are now available directly via www.athleteworld.ch. Usage costs CHF 60 per hour for the full court or CHF 40 per hour for half a court, per group (5–15 participants).

More Than Sport: A Digital Arena Floor for Play, Show and Storytelling

The 28 x 16.5 metre floor corresponds to the size of a standard multisport hall and is far more than just a playing surface. Thanks to the proprietary GlassCourt OS software platform, it becomes a multifunctional stage and an integral part of an interactive, immersive experience world.

The ASB GlassFloor makes it possible to digitally display virtually any court layout, from basketball and badminton to volleyball, handball and futsal. At the same time, dynamic content such as animations, graphics, sponsorship integrations and live statistics can be displayed directly on the playing surface. Tracking and data-driven applications open up new possibilities for training, entertainment and event design. Tactical scenarios can be visualised, opponent profiles displayed, and interactive learning and gaming environments created in real time.

However, the use of the Arena goes far beyond traditional competitive sports. The ASB GlassFloor becomes a creative platform for new forms of interaction and experiences: players can design and personalise their own courts, stage social media content directly on the playing surface, or use the floor as a dynamic stage for events, brand activations and corporate functions.

For children and educational programmes, entirely new learning environments emerge, allowing them to discover wildlife, outer space or historical scenarios quite literally beneath their feet.

Strategic Milestone: ASB Partners with Athlete World GmbH to Bring the Concept to the Public

The Arena by ASB GlassFloor will be operated by Athlete World GmbH, which will be based within MOVECITY, together with ASB Arena and Event Services AG.

“As a former basketball player and coach, I know how important the right environment is for young athletes. That is exactly what we are creating here: a place where sport, technology and community come together. The ASB GlassFloor is more than sport. It is a platform for experiences that people will remember. And for the first time, it is accessible to everyone,” says Michael Jacobsen, Founder and Managing Director of Athlete World GmbH.

For ASB Arena and Event Services AG, the project marks a strategic step towards new operating and usage models for interactive sports and event infrastructure.

“This is the first time anywhere in the world that we are making our floor publicly accessible in a B2C format while actively participating in the operation of such a facility. This concept opens up an entirely new future for us at the intersection of technology, sport and experience,” says Benedikt von Dohnanyi, CEO of ASB Arena and Event Services AG.
