Volleyball at a high-tech level: Germany hosts Italy on the ASB GlassFloor

A major milestone for ASB GlassFloor: for the first time ever, an official international volleyball match will be played on the ASB GlassFloor. On May 25, 2025, at 4 p.m., volleyball fans can experience a spectacular event at the Munich BMW Park. The German men’s national volleyball team will compete against Italy, currently ranked fifth in the FIVB world rankings, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Bavarian Volleyball Association.

The Germany men’s volleyball team, led by national coach Michal Winiarski, will face a top Italian team in an important preparatory match ahead of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL). This match serves as a crucial benchmark for the team before the VNL season begins on June 12th, with the opening game against Canada.

The ASB GlassFloor team considers the volleyball highlight at the comdirect Supercup 2019 in Hanover a groundbreaking event. This event marked the first time an official match of an Olympic sport took place on an interactive floor and was broadcast live on national television.
